Welcome to our Religious Education page for our Parish’s youth!

Our Religious Education programs for children in pre-school through grade 11 begin in the Fall of each year. Registration for the year begins in the spring, and continues through September 1st. However, we will always accept registrations for children who have been enrolled in other programs, but are moving into our parish during the year. A reminder to all: All of our Religious Education families, with kids in any grades, are encouraged and expected to attend weekend Masses, and really be a part of the community life here at OLOH! Use this website, check our bulletins, or call the parish for more information on getting involved!
Grades pre-school through 6
Classes are offered on Sunday mornings at 8:45am (before our 10am Mass), and also on Monday afternoons from 3:30-4:30pm. Please be advised that availability of class time is dependent upon enrollment and teacher availability– so register early!
For our youngsters, we also have a Children’s Liturgy 3 weeks of the month during the school year– the calendar is available (and will be published on the website shortly).
Grades 7 & 8
Our classes for Grades 7 & 8 are offered on Wednesday nights from 6:45-8pm. Included throughout the year are Youth Group Nights, speakers, and special events.
Grades 9 & 10 (Confirmation Prep)
Classes for Grades 9 & 10 meet on Sunday nights after our 6pm Mass. These classes begin a little later than the others (generally in October rather than September), and they run in three sessions of 5 classes each. Included in this curriculum are individual service projects, retreats, group projects, and speakers on the topics of Respect for Life, and Chastity and Sexuality. Since these grades are on a shorter schedule, we have a “no absence” policy, and opportunities for making up any classes that may be missed. In preparation for Confirmation, these students are asked to sign in for their attendance at Masses, and to really become a community of faith, worshipping together. Most students attend the 6pm Mass before class.
Grade 11 (Confirmation)
The Sacrament of Confirmation is offered here at OLOH in the Fall of a students’s junior year of high school (their 3rd year of Confirmation Preparation). Classes are held for only the month or so preceding Confirmation, on Monday evenings, -and students must have completed the two years of preparation before making their Confirmation. Homeschooling
Parents with students in almost any grade are welcome to homeschool their children for Religious Education. Please contact the Religious Education Office at 978-356-2522 for more information.
